BRIAN LEDGER (Letters, January 19) will be pleased to hear that the Green Party will have candidates in both York constituencies.
I will be standing in York Central and Ginnie Shaw in York Outer, which includes Copmanthorpe (where there will also be a Green candidate in the city council election on the same day). He can rest assured that, as a railwayman, I shall campaign to bring the railway back into public ownership.
Although I’m afraid he cannot transfer his vote (unless he takes up residence with his friend), he could help the Greens by delivering leaflets or knocking on doors in York Central, which is where we have the best chance and have had Green councillors representing the residents of Fishergate Ward since 2003.
