Consultation on Community Transport in York

Community Transport is a way for people to get round who can’t afford or can’t use public transport or taxis due to disability or age. Community Transport takes people from door to door and has to be booked in advance. It includes services like Dial-a-Ride, York Wheels and a charity’s own transport like Age UK, the York MS Society or St Leonard’s Hospice. Community transport provides a means for people to get to places including shops, the hospital, organisation events and other appointments.

We know that many people are still missing out on going out because they can’t use public transport or can’t afford a taxi and at the moment community transport might not help.

So we are developing ideas for a new community transport project to help people get out more and would like your ideas to help us identify what that project might be.

So please take a few minutes to answer our questions
