Keep parliamentary scrutiny of Brexit

Houses of Parliament

Letter from York Green Party to the York MPs

Dear Julian and Rachael,

I am writing concerning the new that Boris Johnson is
intending to prorogue parliament to prevent parliament discussing Brexit and
determining what we should be doing.  One of the major claims for Brexit
was that it was intended to bring back control, but this move will remove
control from parliament to an unelected Prime Minister, selected by a mere
140,000 members of the Conservative Party.  If this goes ahead we will
have a parliament unable to hold a Prime Minister to account for all but one
week of his first eleven weeks in office, which is a constitutional outrage.

York Green Party is calling upon you, as our elected MP, to
demand of the Prime Minister that he does not prorogue parliament.

Yours sincerely

Tom Franklin
Chair Green Party
