Andrew Collingwood has lived in the York area since 1979 and in Heslington since 2000.

"I have worked at the University of York since 1991 and during that time I have played an active part in the trade union and am a delegate to York Trades Union Council. I am also studying for a degree in Social Sciences with the Open University and am active in the Open University Student Union."

"I have been active in many local political campaigns, including York Against The War, York No-2-ID and York Palestine Solidarity Campaign. I am also a member of CND, Burma Campaign UK and War on Want."

"Along with my running partner John Cossham I feel we could make a real difference in the Hull Road ward."
