Greenspeak: Peak Oil

Peak oil - what does it mean and how will it affect our lives in future?

A chance to discuss green issues and politics in an informal café style atmosphere. A short introduction to a topic, followed by lots of time for questions and discussion.

As high fuel prices keep hitting the news, Andy Chase, Green candidate for York Central, will present the background to so-called 'peak oil' - the notion that we are approaching (or perhaps have already passed) the peak of global cheap oil. We will discuss the impact this will have on our lives and how it fits in with effectively reducing carbon emissions.

7pm to 9pm at The Proiry Street Centre (Denham Room), Priory Street (off Micklegate), York

Organic/fair trade drinks and cakes available from 6.30pm.
