Greenshare - a mutual library

York Green Party have set up Greenshare - an online lending library through which members and supporters can offer and borrow items to and from each other.

Users list items with a brief description and they appear on the website with an indication of the rough area of the city they're in. Other users can then request a loan, and arrange to collect the items. So far, so much like Freecycle. But the difference with Greenshare is that you get your property back when they've finished with it.

Most of our possessions sit around our house, unused for ninety percent of the time. If we share more, we can just buy less stuff overall - something close to the hearts of many Greens.
