Jennifer Aitken
Candidate for Heworth ward
Jennifer has lived in York for over 20 years. She has two grown up children and works at a local organic plant nursery that provides work opportunities for people with learning difficulties.She has been involved with different peace campaigns over the years and with the campaigns to protect Cliffords Tower and Save the Barbican baths. She has been a member of the Green Party for over 10 years and has supported her local party by delivering leaflets and canvassing.
She supports the Green Party because they are the only party that have consistently tackled environmental issues from a sustainable life-style stance. "The Greens recognise that quality of life is not about possessing more and more things, but about the air we breath, the food we eat and the diversity of the environment we live in. It is important that our grandchildren inherit vibrant and beautiful places to live in and a world that has a peaceful and sustainable future."
