John Gray

Candidate for Dringhouses and Woodthorpe Ward

"I have lived in South Bank in York for over ten years. I'm particularly interested in the Terry's redevelopment, promoting appropriate housing to meet the needs of York residents, cheaper bus fares, and in local politicians who are more connected to the people they serve.

I used to work for the Council, so I'm familiar with how it works internally and the role that local councillors can play. Nowadays I work for myself as a consultant with not-for-profit organisations. My clients include Amnesty International UK, Friends of the Earth, and WWF-UK as well as local community organisations.

You'll see me more often on my bicycle in York than in my car. I'm a volunteer on Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's nature reserves, particularly Askham Bogs.

I'm married with two children.

It would be a privilege for me to represent Woodthorpe and Dringhouses residents on City of York Council."
