Martin Lovedale
Candidate for Rural West ward
Martin is 46 and joined the Green Party this year.He has been married for over 20 years and has two teenage children. He has been fortunate to have worked in many diverse roles in Construction, Law, Finance and Telecommunications.
His interests include gardening and his allotment, keeping tropical fish, running, cycling and reading social history. He also plays cricket for British Sugar Cricket Club although this will soon be disbanded to make way for yet more flats!
He says "If elected I would:- Lobby for more government investment in public transport.
- Help stop the local jobs stampede abroad.
- Encourage renovation not new building developments.
- Emphasise training for young people and encourage education for all.
- Help secure grants and promote energy saving policies for homes.
- Play a part in developing a planned local Green economy thus Keeping York Special."
