Fishergate ward stretches from the city walls down Fulford Road to Fulford village and covers all the terraced streets alongside New Walk. It also stretches over towards the University covering the south side of Lawrence St across to Green Dykes Lane. So we are fortunate to include the grounds of the Retreat, Walmgate Stray, the Barracks and the riverside walkway, Blue Bridge and Millennium Bridge within the ward. We have traditional pubs such as the Wellington Arms on Alma Terrace, workplaces that include TSYS and the Barracks, Get Cycling and Cycle Heaven bike shops on Hospital Fields Rd and of course small cafes: Hallow Mallow on Alma Terrace, Croque Monsieur and Fields Fayre on Fulford Rd and Busk on Fishergate. St Lawrences, St Georges and Fishergate Primary Schools are all in the north of the ward, further south we have the Danesgate Centre and Steiner School on Fulford Cross.
