Local Green campaigner Danielle Snowdon-Russell says ‘If a Tourism Tax for York and North Yorkshire is introduced, the money shouldn’t be used to promote tourism. It should be kept locally to help communities facing additional pressures from tourism. Examples might include better bins, public toilets, flower tubs, or street cleaning in York.
