Meet your Green Councillors at 'Green Bites' event

1 October 2015

York Green Party are having an open afternoon this weekend inviting residents to meet with their local councillors and have an informal chat over a coffee and cup cake.

As part of the 50+ Festival on-going this week in the city, the Greens are welcoming people to Briar House, Museum Street, between 14:00 and 15:30 on Sunday afternoon. Residents will get the chance to meet councillors and ward teams, ask questions about policy, local and national issues, and also enjoy a free cake.

York Green Party Group leader and local councillor for Fishergate, Andy D'Agorne said: "This is a great opportunity for people of York to meet their local councillors. Since the elections in May we now have four Green representatives in the city: in Fishergate, in Mickelgate and in Guildhall. We're inviting all the people of York to come and meet us and say hello. We very much believe in grassroots politics and are interested in our local residents' concerns - whether it is at a national or a local level".
