I have lived in York since 2015 and joined the Green Party in 2016 in the wake of Brexit. A pianist by profession, I see that there are many areas where arts and politics meet, and I believe in the reconciliatory power of music. Just think of what Daniel Barenboim has achieved with his West-Eastern-Divan Orchestra bringing Israeli and Palestinian musicians together.
I was born in London and grew up in Munich, Germany. I came back to London for postgraduate studies in 1998 and stayed there for 17 years. Now living in York I teach piano at the University as well as at Leeds College of Music alongside having a freelance career. In my free time I enjoy meeting with friends and engaging in politics.
